Katherine has been dancing since she can remember. She began with ballet at a young age, and when she walked into Dance Trance studios, she was enticed by the other forms of dance as well. It is at that point that Katherine ventured into jazz, lyrical and hip hop as well as continuing on with her intense ballet training. Katherine completed her R.A.D. exams up to and including intermediate. Katherine has trained with many accomplished instructors including: Leigh Lee, Suzanne Zelmer, Gwen Grant, Chantal Hunt, Breanna English, Jo and Alex Pesusich, Natasha Gorrie, as well as many US based choreographers. Katherine is trained in jazz, hip-hop, street jazz, funk, lyrical, break dancing, modern, contemporary, stage, musical theatre and salsa. Katherine is an accomplished dancer winning several awards for her performances over the years. Some of these awards include: Street Jazz bursary from both the Surrey Festival of Dance and Pac West, Kelly Konno Master Class Scholarship, Debbie Reynold’s scholarship, Hollywood Tour 2006 Recipient’s award, as well as many most promising dancer awards from studios and competitions. Katherine has also been active on the film/video scene in Vancouver. She has participated in such projects as “Fantastic Four” and “The Five People You Meet in Heaven”. With Katherine’s extensive training, personal drive and passion for dance, we are sure that Katherine will be an asset to Dance Trance studio. We are pleased to welcome back one of our former senior line students to now pass on the knowledge and passion to her students.
