Dance Trance offers ballet exams under the Royal Academy of Dance (R.A.D.) Syllabus. You must be enrolled in a minimum of 2 classes per week (except primary) to be considered for exam entry. The instructors at Dance Trance will make the final decision as to your eligibility for SPRING EXAMS; a letter will be sent home by Jan 15th with this decision. Due to the difficulty and amount of material in the Grade 6+ exams, some students may need up to 2 years of 2x/week to qualify for exams. These grades may also do FALL EXAMS with sufficient summer school work, and approval of the instructors.

- if Dance Trance instructor feels it unsafe for the dancer to be in pointe shoes, they will do the curriculum in soft shoes for entire class
Grade 6+
- 1.5 hour class
- must take 2x/wk to qualify for exams and participate in competitions and recital
- one class will include exam technique and Pointe
- one class will include exam technique and modern routine to perform at competition and recital
- one costume deposit required for modern/contemporary routine
- costume/dance TBD for pointe depending on skills/level. Pointe is non-competitive

“Open” Ballet
